The Bible:
In the salvation of a mans soul there are two necessary parts: Gods part and mans part. Gods part is extremely significant, “Because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions ~ it is by grace you have been saved.” (Ephesians 2:4-5) The love which God felt for man led him to send Christ into the world to redeem man from sin. John 3:16-17 says this very clearly, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” The life and teaching of Jesus; His sacrifice on the cross; His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead; and the proclaiming of the gospel to men constitute Gods part in salvation. Though Gods part is extremely significant, man`s part is also necessary if man is to reach heaven. God provided us with the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, and now our part is to receive that gift of salvation by taking the following steps clearly set forth in the Bible:

HEAR THE GOSPEL
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:14)

BELIEVE
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

REPENT OF PAST SINS
“In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30)

CONFESS JESUS AS LORD
“As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized? And Philip said, if you believe with all your heart, you may. And he answered and said, `I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him.” (Acts 8:36-38)

BE BAPTIZED FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS
“Therefore, let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to peter and the other apostles, Brothers, what shall we do? Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. `” (Acts 2:36-38)

LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE
“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Revelation 2:10)
